Molding God

“In all our efforts to find God, to please Him, to commune with Him, we should remember that all change must be on our part.” –Tozer

So often we shape God into our image, to fit our morality, our ideals. But the one who comes to God must, instead, be molded into God’s image. He is the ideal, we are the imperfect that must be shaped into improvement.

  1. The hardest and most wonderful part about this is that we must die. That is the great change. Sometimes it's a piece at a time. sometimes great chunks of our lives. all brought to the cross to be exchanged for life. often, as we were discussing at the meeting, it is the bitter disappointed hurt parts of ourselves, the parts we have used to define ourselves, that are the hardest to lay low. That is when we are most likely to try to change God. No one likes death, though we must welcome it.
